Flavors using De in Spanish

Flavors Using De in Spanish

One of the tricky sentence structures you must learn when learning Spanish is to describe flavors using de in Spanish.  This sentence structure is very different from the way we describe flavors in English (we typically just add an adjective), so it is important to learn this syntax structure in Spanish.

One way that you can describe flavors in Spanish is to use the word “de”.   These work well for ice cream, pizza, popsicles, soup, flavored waters, juice, and more.

For example,

helado de chocolate  – chocolate ice cream

helado de fresa – strawberry ice cream

caldo de pollo  –  chicken soup

caldo de res – beef soup

As you can see, this structure is quite different in Spanish and can become a bit of an obstacle when learning Spanish.  I have created a video along with a FREE exercise to help you practice this sentence structure.

If you would like a copy of a FREE exercise to accompany this video, please check out my Teacher’s Pay Teacher store here.
